I am a fan of Theme Parks in general, but one of my real loves has always been the fine art of the dark ride. This often under-valued staple of many a park can range from the traditional ghost train to huge theatrical epics.

Dark Ride resources are few and far between on the internet, unlike their coaster and thrill ride cousins.
This site holds reviews and information on many of the UK's favourite rides, and some of the more obscure rides both past and present, and will continue to grow with more information and articles in the future.

Latest Updates:

18 Jan '08 Another brief update:

Alice In Wonderland at Pleasure Beach Blackpool - now has the
interior theme for you to enjoy. If this music doesn't remind you
of the smell inside the ride, nothing will!

Also, there is a new Valhalla review - again at the Pleasure Beach.

14 Jan '08 Brief update, but one I think you will enjoy.

Magic Mountain at Pleasure Beach Blackpool has been added.

As well as info and pictures, there is also music for you to download.

30 Dec '07 Happy new year to you all! (Well, nearly...)

I just wanted to mention a travelling dark ride currently operating
at Hyde Park, London. It is normally found roaming around Holland,
and whilst easily missable in continental fairs, is on a scale quite unlike
any travelling dark ride we are used to in this country.

Haunted Mansion is a suspended indoor ride, with a huge impressive
frontage and much better than average indoor tricks and effects.

It's sheer scale means that UK punters are more then happy to pay
£4 per rider, and watch out for the christmas theming that has
been added for the event - it could well be part of the ride proper!

It's at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park until 6th January.

12 Nov '07 Just news this time, we want to mourn the loss of Beelzee Bob's
Trail at Adventure Island, Southend.

The ride was a guilty pleasure of mine, and showed that small
seaside parks don't always have to rely on rubbish models and
light bulbs for dark rides.

Of course though, like all deceased dark rides, it will live on here on DRUK!
