Ride Review - Latest Revision: September 2002 (WARNING! Will Spoil First Time Riders)
Ride like the bubbleworks have been around for some time. The water tubs spinning around, music and other effects if done well, produce to create a satisfying ride. However, none of them have used the water element as part of the theming. The seaquarium does, taking you underwater in your tub to see what REALLY happens Under the Sea.

First of all, the water is VERY blue all the way through, and is coloured artificially. (You don't say!)

In the station is a poster with a list of the 3 verse song around the ride lyrics, so you can sing along - but you have to remember it, which is not really possible. The song itself it rather boring. It is catchy, but only because it uses the same "boingy boingy" chord pattern as thousands of other pieces of music in the world. At least rides like Small World, Bubbleworks and Toyland Tours are catchy, but also unique. Never mind though! The music in each section can be heard easily, and is different but blends well. Which is nice.

After a small float though an outdoor (well, indoor because the whole ride is in a huge pyrimad) you enter the underwater section. A captain in a submerine says hello, and the following scenes are of various fish doing various things. Some play music, some dance, some play games. None of them seem to be swimming though, oddly enough.

Each scene is made to look like it is behind glass (though it isn't) with labels such as "The Peeking Lobster" (Obviously, a lobster with some binoculars)

Whilst there is movement, it seems only the models at the front move, and the rest just stand, sorry, float still.

At the end, the sea-captain is back, saying goodbye, and lots of children sing the song. We go on a rather odd float "outside" again, before getting back into the station.

The ride scene are all rather nice, and the kids enjoy it. The models are cute and well done, and the ride looks gloriously colourful and no signs of ageing. Its a pity more models don't move a bit, but we can't have everything! The music works well in reality and the scenes follow a vageuly consistant theme.

However, I do have some complaints.

The boats move far too fast through the ride, meaning that it is hard to get a good look at any once scene. Another linked though unusual problem is that the boats seem to spin too much. The good thing about rides like Bubbleworks is that the spinning means that everyone gets a good view. However, on this ride, the boat is spinning so fast you can't look at something without having to turn your head 180s before it goes out of sight again, by which time you have floated past the scene. It also lacks any kind of ending.

So, in conclusion, nice theming and nice story with good scenes. The only problem is that the boats feel like they're on Steroids, rushing through the ride. With this blemish, it can not be considered as good as the Bubbleworks, but not bad in its own right.
